Once more I had the opportunity to spend just a few moments with the Thurstons, missionary friends from my time at RGBI. After work, I ran over to Starbucks and met up with them on their way through town. We hadn't seen each other in a year so we had much to catch up on and it was an encouraging time of fellowship. :)
I was especially blessed to have prayer with Phil and Pat one more time before we went our separate ways. It was always a priveledge to hear these two pray and I was blessed to have them pray over me with their sincere and warm manner of speaking to their Heavenly Father. Truly something to be thankful for.
Thank you again, Thurstons, for taking time to visit!!

"sincere and warm manner of speaking to their Heavenly Father" ....those farther down their walk with the Lord amaze my senses, and inspire my soul. so glad you got to have a nice starbuck-time ;)
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, God truly gave a great gift to all of us at RGBI by allowing us to meet and get to know Phil and Patty.
ReplyDeleteI still remember listening to Patty and Phil pray in their apartment when we all said goodbye to them just before the end of the 2nd semester. I just stood there crying because their prayers were so real, so sweet, so intimate. They impacted my life...to this day.
I am reading a new book by Paul Miller entitled, "A Praying Life". I've heard it's a great book on prayer and give practical helps for one who wants to improve. So far, it has been a blessing to me. I recommend it.
Good to see you post again after a hiatus ;)
