Delighting In God

I'm really excited to tell you all about the plans that are being made to start a ladies' Bible study called D.I.G.(Delighting In God) this coming June. My accountability partner, Kassie, and I are making the preparations to begin a study on Romans using Kay Arthur and David Arthur's Inductive Bible Study program. We especially wanted to start a group that was serious about studying the Scriptures. Meeting once a week to encourage each other to be in the Word all week long, not just at Bible study, through accountability. Kay Arthur's studies take much time in and meditation on the Word of God. We continue to get ready for our first meeting as June quickly approaches and are very excited to see what God will have us to learn individually and as a group through the study of His Word.

  1. Sounds good Amanda! That would be a blessing to have a group that's serious about learning/studying God's Word. A friend gave me one of Kay Arthur's studies a while ago though I admit I have yet to go through it.
I hope we hear more about what you're learning in future posts. :)
Is this with ladies from your church or just people you know?
I've been thinking about you lately. I'll have to give ya a call sometime soon to catch up. :)

  2. This will be a little bit of both I suppose. As of right now, Kassie and I have been inviting specific people that we believe would be willing and interested in joining. Some will be from my church and some are from Kassie's church (Thornville's sister church).

I'll look forward to hearing from you!

  3. Application Oriented Questions to Ask the Text during Bible Study and Meditation:

Does this text reveal something I should...
    -believe about God?
-praise, thank, or trust God for?
-pray about for myself or others?
    -have a new attitude about?
    -make a decision about?
-do for the sake of Christ, others, or myself?

  4. Good questions David. Taking time to think and ponder what I've read has been something I've been working on. I'm not always the greatest at that vital aspect. :(

I'll try to catch you this weekend Amanda.
